Someone once said, “God has spoken, the rest is commentary.” I’m not an officially ordained pastor, preacher or nationally recognized Christian author. (I have preached in front of groups of people.) But whatever I am or am not, I hope not to be just another person with an opinion.
I’m mindful that the Bible is God’s spoken word and that no one can add to that. But I also believe that he “gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers” (Eph 4:11, emphasis mine) for a reason:
...to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (v.12-13)
